ISLAMIC, Mongols. Golden Horde. Toqta, AH 690-713 / AD 1291-1313. Dirham (Silver, 19 mm, 1.40 g, 1 h), Ukek, AH 702 = 1302/3. Toqta’s name in the Uighur script in the center, citing him as ‘al-Sulṭān al-Aʿẓam Ghiyāth al-Dīn al-ʿĀdil Khān’ (in Arabic); at the bottom, ‘End of the Year of the Cow’ (= AH 702) in the Uighur script . Rev. ‘lā ilāha illā / Allāh Muḥammad rasūl / Allāh ḍarb / Ūkāk’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Struck in Ukek’ in Arabic). Album 2023C. Sagdeeva 178. Extremely rare. Some weakness and light scratches, otherwise, very fine.
